TESTIMONIALS:

Malcolm Mellon:

‘My daughter and I recently learned how to make a fine leather piece at Anya's course.  This is a really excellent way to learn the basics of making quality bags in leather.  The course takes you from knowing nothing through planning and techniques to the finished product at exactly the right pace, explaining all the way, using the same leathers and materials as Anya herself uses. Both of us now have lovely stylish pencil cases that we have with us all the time, genuinely getting compliments on the "luxury bag".  Anya herself is a very personable teacher, and her knowledge of the subject, right there in her workshop, is so much more valuable than just getting a set of instructions. And we have been left with a much greater appreciation of leather work and bag design...  now I actually understand why a fine handbag would cost a lot after a lifetime of wondering!’

Fiona Evans:

‘My name is Fiona Evans and I took part in a one day Pencil Case Making course run by Anya Sushko last Autumn. There were four of us including Anya. It was well organised and prepared for -  the template explained patiently and time given to help individually. She uses beautiful leather and lovely contrasting fabrics for lining her pieces. As we were not experienced in using the machinery Anya carried out the machine work - if we had been experienced or there had been more time it might have been good to get the feel of the machine but it seemed very different to an ordinary sewing machine and would have required more than a day. It was a really enjoyable, different and interesting day in a lovely location looking over the Thames near the Barrier.’

Zee Lanoe:

‘I recently attended one of Anya's courses on making pencil cases. It was very useful and very informative. She had everything ready for us when we arrived; all the leather tools, leather, linings and most importantly the coffee! The day was well structured and we learnt how to make the pattern for the pencil case (including the master patterns) and went on to make the actual case. We went away with a beautiful item that you could also use as a glasses case or make-up bag. I had my pattern and went home and made pencil cases for family members for Christmas. They went down very well. Thanks Anya and I hope to do another close with you soon.’
